Evelyn Blume was first-generation American.
Daughter of Irish immigrants who crossed an ocean for freedom,
only to watch their new country try to outlaw a shared glass.

She did not rebel loudly.
She rebelled deliberately.

She believed whiskey was not a crime.
Rum was not a sin.
And hospitality did not require permission.

California taught her confidence.
The South taught her patience.
Ireland gave her spine.

When Prohibition came in 1923, she did not retreat.

She refined.

Behind closed doors and quiet shelves,
she preserved tradition the way oak preserves spirit.

Lipstick & Leather Corp. isn’t just a bar tucked behind walls, and hidden behind a bookshelf, it’s a memory dressed in rouge and stitched in bootblack. Step inside and the years loosen their grip to 1923: chandelier glowing like dusk on a flapper’s cheek, stitched leather trim soft as a whisper, and glistening lipstick colored walls that know how to listen, but you'll learn there's more to our name than the walls when you read about Evelyn Blume!

Every shelf’s got a story, and every frame remembers more than it lets on. Walk around, take your photographs, get some closer looks, and discover the secrets. There’s family watching from the frames, temperance flyers gritting their teeth, and a menu trying to make jokes without a drop in the glass.

Over 200 bottles line these walls; rum, whiskey, gin, mezcal, and more; each one poured for the taste and the tale. This place wasn’t made for the public. It was made for those who still hear swing and jazz in silence. For those who don’t need signs, just stories. The LLC isn’t open to the public; but if you know, you know.
